Room Boy / Bell Boy / Waiter
The bellboy is often the first person with whom an arriving hotel guest has a direct interaction. His customer service responsibilities include helping guests out of vehicles, unloading their luggage and transporting it into the hotel and on to their rooms, helping them find their rooms, teaching them to operate door locks and room lights and assisting with roll-away beds or cribs. Guests may also request additional items, such as extra pillows or an ironing board —the bellboy can get these for the guests or pass their request on to housekeeping. He may help with laundry pick-up and delivery or shoe shines during guests’ stays at the hotel. When guests depart, he takes their luggage from the room and loads it into their departure vehicle.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets guests and presents them with the menu.Informs guests about the special items for the day and menu changes if any.Suggest food and beverages to the guest and also try to upsell.
- Take food and beverage orders from the guest on the order taking pads or on the handheld Point of sale ( POS ) system.Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Filling in for absent staff as neededPunch the order on the POS machine and make sure to enter the special requirements made by the guest while ordering the food. Eg: No Garlic, less spicy etc, Without egg etc.
- Communicate to the guest and provide assistance with their queries.
